Foulness Island, Essex
The Broomway is a path forgotten by time, eerie and haunting connecting the UK mainland to Foulness Island. Safe passage was once marked by broom handles on Britain's deadliest path. We guide you on an enchanting adventure in Essex led by a local expert.
A beautiful and shimmering walk along a path which is 600 years old but has been untouched by time as the world has moved on.
This bizarre public right of way begins at a rickety causeway and heads straight out into the sea. It can only be attempted at low tide and when the Ministry of Defense allows.
But once on it, expect to find a spectacular walk which is isolated, silent and an out of this world experience.
A truly unique and once in a lifetime experience.
